I visited on a rainy afternoon,and for a while I believe I was the sole visitor in the building holding the miniature models.

There was a rather quirky animated theatrical presentation of early sea-faring history thats quite amusing.

I enjoyed the large model railway, though since the electrics and thus the running of the trains is triggered by visitors entering the room, I had to re-enter the room several times when things ground to a halt.

The second building houses a large collection of animated figures, spanning many years of creation up to present days.

Most of the models come to life when the visitor presses a button, and many are charming and clever.

The decor of the display room was also impressive and includes a Parisian street.

Both collections would interest children, though the entrance price may seem rather expensive for a family (possibly there is a family discount, but the entrance was 12 for one adult.) We were able to communicate, even though she did not speak much English and I do not speak much French.

The museum is relatively small and the subject matter feels a bit corny in todays age.

But it certainly is unique If you have a little time to kill, it is worth a walk through the exhibits - it only takes about an hour or so to walk through both museums.

You could spend more time if you wanted in the Modeles, but we were tired and breezed through it pretty quickly.
